"Health and wellness are the foundation to beauty and hair is simply its' reflection." -Pamela Ferrell

Often times as women we can put a lot of emphasis and value in our hair.  It defines us sometimes, but it doesn't have to.  We should be just as content with our lives, feel just as beautiful, and feel just as confident even if we had no hair at all.  In a world where a woman is judged first by what she presents on the outside, we must be confident in who we are and in our self-image.  Be presentable, but don't obsess over it.

As black women we don't need to go natural to love our natural beauty.  "Its important for black women to love their natural hair, even if they want to wear wigs and weave most of the time." ~Taraji P. Henson.  We must change the way we talk about our hair, It's not "nappy", it has curls and coils that make it unique and beautiful.  We are crowned with our curls and queens don't drop their heads in shame.

Black Hair Empowerment in America

"Right here, let me correct the erroneous impression held by some that I claim to straighten the hair. I want the great masses of my people to take a greater pride in their personal appearance and to give their hair proper attention."

~ Madam C. J. Walker, recorded in 1919
